Below are the updated pool rules for the 2020 season, with some revisions to the COVID-19 rules that were revised by the board during the July 2020 board meeting.
Pool update: More visible progress all last week with additional plaster demo, coping patching, and lane line tile has begun. The plaster subcontractor was in Friday and Saturday (on the 4th) and we did decide there was enough time to go ahead and demo the bad concrete coping on the baby pool and re-pour it (scheduled for Tuesday). Northland Pool also has another sand blaster coming in tomorrow to see if they can help complete the plaster demo.
A majority of board members met with Wes (Northland Pools owner) last week to allow him to give updates to everyone in person and allow more direct questions. Based on current state/plans, the earliest opening would be later the week of 7/13. Thanks again for your patience! Pool update: Northland Pool had a good contingent of their resources working on plaster demo (rented their own smaller chipping machines) and cleanup all last week so the progress is much more visible. NPM will continue this week to make the strides they can and we are putting in a call to the subcontractor as well to try and help bring them along. Again, please stay outside the pool gate if you are going to view the work (for your safety and to not distract the workers).
We apologize that it does not look like we will have water in the pool this coming holiday weekend and thank you for your continued patience with this major project. The new concrete coping is in and being cleaned up with tile and setup of the fire hydrant planned this week as well. The plaster subcontractor is slated to start Monday 6/8 so right now the earliest opening date would probably be the week of 6/15. This is still weather dependent, but the forecast looks good in the near term. We should be able to publish the updated pool rules very soon and have key card signups next week (possibly one this weekend also).
Quick pool update. In working with the KCMO Health Department and Northland Pools, the board is starting to get a handle on how the pool season will look different this summer. The board met last weekend and here are a few highlights we know will be part of the plan. A full list of 2020 pool rules and restrictions will be provided at the time of pool key signups. We are targeting a drive-through method for pool keys likely starting on 5/26.
